Hydraulic Press Brick Company incorporated in 1868, is a manufacturer of Haydite expanded shale lightweight aggregate. With manufacturing facilities near Indianapolis and Cleveland, Hydraulic Press Brick Company is the primary supplier of lightweight aggregate in the eastern Midwest, Great Lakes and Ohio Valley regions. Throughout much of the company's long history, brick manufacturing was the primary business. However over time the company shifted it's primary focus to the manufacturing of Expanded Shale Lightweight Aggregates. Although the Company no longer manufactures brick we still retain our old and venerated name. The Companies traditional markets have been primarily construction related, producing lightweight aggregates for concrete masonry and structural concrete.
